Are you working in international development and concerned about child protection?
GCPS can help...
Our multi-disciplinary team of highly qualified, skilled and experienced consultants can assist with all your child protection needs.
Responsibilities
All aid and development agencies working internationally will have contact with children, either directly or indirectly so should be proactive in making sure that the welfare and development needs of children are met as far as possible.
Protection risks
Children can be particularly vulnerable and at risk of violence, abuse and exploitation. Agencies must identify the protection risks and issues for children and do what they can to minimise these and deal with the possible consequences.
It is also true that agency staff and other representatives can pose a risk to children. Organisations have a huge responsibility to make sure that their staff do no harm when it comes to working with children.
Support for agencies
The pressure is increasing on agencies to develop clear policies, procedures and codes of conduct to ensure they meet their responsibilities for children. It is essential for agencies working internationally to put in place robust safeguarding measures to ensure children are fully taken account of and their protection prioritised.
GCPS provides a range of supports and services to organisations working internationally to help develop or strengthen this safeguarding architecture. Whether this involves developing child protection policies, training staff, or dealing with the consequences of child abuse, GCPS can provide consultancy and training to help manage all your child protection needs.
